Diane M. Stacey, DDS, MS

As the owner and founder of Desert Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Stacey has created beautiful smiles for thousands of children and adults. She has been in the Las Vegas area for more than 14 years.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, Dr. Stacey graduated from the University, of the Pacific School of Dentistry with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

She completed a two-year hospital residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University Hospitals of Cleveland in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University. She served on both the Cleft Palate and Pediatric Oncology teams.

Dr. Stacey received her certificate in Orthodontics and her Master’s of Science degree from the University of Detroit, School of Dentistry. To duplicate Dr. Stacey’s education would take you thirteen years.

Dr. Stacey is the first and only female dual Specialist in Nevada. Her extensive education and training in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics enable Dr. Stacey to properly diagnose and treat specific dental problems in younger children before they turn into something more severe and costly. Early treatment in the primary and mixed dentitions reduces the time spent in full braces during the teenage years.

In addition to her speaking and teaching activities, Dr. Stacey has published scientific articles in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. She has given lectures and slide presentations to various community organizations, colleagues and professional groups.

Dr. Stacey has a great passion for helping children and animals. She is a financial supporter of Safe Nest, Lied’s Animal Shelter, Toys for Tots and many other local and worldwide charitable organizations.

Dr. Stacey has been a mentor to several young people interested in dentistry and has hosted foreign exchange students for the entire school for over eight years.

Outside interests include boating, snow sports, reading, gathering with friends and family and traveling. Dr. Stacey is a circumnavigator! This is someone who has traveled all the way around the world in a single trip. Dr. Stacey has been to almost 50 countries and 39 States. Her travels help her to see what’s happening in other cultures and countries and to try and incorporate what’s new and wonderful into her practice and her daily life.

Larry Hon, DMD

Dr. Larry Hon was born and raised in San Gabriel, California where he received his eagle scout badge, taught swimming, and tutored children in science. He graduated from University of California, Los Angeles and received his Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Sciences.

Dr. Hon continued his education at California State University, Dominguez Hills where he earned his Master’s degree in Biology with a focus on advancing the understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms and virulence factors of bacterial infections. During his studies, Dr. Hon developed an interest in oral infections and moved from research to dentistry at UNLV School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

Following his passion for educating children, he decided to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and completed his two-year residency at UNLV. Dr. Hon was awarded his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and is also board qualified for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. When he’s not working, he’s taking care of his daughter, playing video games, or reading comic books.

Dr. Hon is currently a Captain in the United States Army Reserves. He attends Battle Assembly one weekend per month and Annual Training two weeks a year.
